Thrilled with the transformation: “I absolutely love it!”

When we style a home, it matters to us that our clients are delighted with the transformation. If it blows them away, it follows that prospective buyers will love it too.

It is wonderful to receive emphatic validation of our work. After a recent project, one of clients was utterly blown away. “Oh my gosh Jayne!! I’ve just been into the house to put the rangehood pieces back in and the house looks unbelievable!!! Thank you so much! I’m so happy and grateful to you…. I absolutely love it!

Getting our hands on a blank canvas

For this project, we had been tasked with staging a large, empty ex-show-home. A blank, rather bland space, comprising four bedrooms and two living spaces, that was begging for stunning makeover. The client, who works for one of Christchurch’s leading building companies, had perused our website and found plenty of inspiration, so we were able to work with her ideas to create a vision for the space.

Capturing the client’s vision

Navy, green and dark oatmeal colours appealed to the client, and we were able to balance these with the home’s soft wall colours and curtains. We went with dark oatmeal as the dominant colour in one of the living areas, and we boosted this welcoming space with bold abstract artwork. While in the second living space, we opted for blue tones.

Making it moody

Moody and relaxing go hand in hand when it comes to style. With dark charcoal walls, one of the bedrooms seemed to call for lightening up, but instead we introduced different blues to complement the walls and navy-patterned curtains – for a look and feel that is memorably moody and undeniably relaxing.

Overall, we kept the styling modern and classic, incorporating the client’s colour preferences, to transform this empty house into an inviting and elegant home. Our client’s response exemplifies what we are all about at The Finishing Touches: getting all the details just so and creating spaces that make clients, and buyers, go wow!
