The new year is here!

Happy New Year and welcome to 2022.
We hope you had a well-deserved holiday break and you’re feeling rejuvenated for the year ahead. The start of the year is often when people decide to make a change and move house. Here are my answers to some of the most commonly asked questions I receive, when it comes to staging your home for sale.

Can I live in my home while it is staged?

You can definitely still live in your home while it is housing our staging furniture and furnishings. But the furniture may not be used! The reason for this is that we aim to keep our furniture fresh and clean for every hire. If this is too problematic, we also offer a Top Dressing service, where we use your furniture in the staging of your home.

What is a Top Dressing service?

The Finishing Touches provides this Top Dressing service as a partial home staging option. It’s the perfect solution if you’re living in your home while trying to sell it. We mainly bring in accessories or art to enhance the items you already own. Please note conditions apply with this service. Call us for more details.

What does Top Dressing look like in reality?

We look at what you’ve got already, how you like to live and function in the home. Then we work out how to create a cohesive look that will get you the best outcome for a sale, using particular items from our extensive collection, alongside your existing furniture items.

Do you provide consultations without then staging the home?

Yes, of course. Some of our clients love sourcing their own items for the staging, as they may want to take the furniture with them once the house is sold. We are professional interior designers and can advise you on how to show your property in its best possible light and point you in the right direction when sourcing the items to style your home.

We specialise in bringing style and flair to your home, so your buyers will want to make it their own.
