Advice and guidance
For example, I was asked by a real estate agent to help with the home staging of a home in Burnside. The family, who own a well-known Christchurch retail store, were keen to work with me and wanted my advice on their current furnishings. Although their existing antique furniture was beautiful, it had the potential to exclude some interested buyers, who wouldn’t be able to see past it. So we removed their furniture and replaced it with a generic and cohesive furniture package. Below are some before and after shots from the project.
What happened next?
The home sold for a record value and over the asking price. The family were really appreciative of my assistance and even told me that some people who viewed the home had asked to buy my furniture, they loved it so much! We made the process easy and got the outcome required.
And did they get their furniture?
Generally, I don’t sell my furniture. However, I do give advice when asked. Whether it’s about where to position the TV on a wall or how to get the best placement of sofas and chairs, I’m happy to talk to new homeowners about what could work well in their new space.
